Gail Dapogny

The fascinating thing about clay is that it is as simple as a lump of earth, and as complex as the physics and chemistry and artistry that turn a fragile lump of earth into something durable and wonderful, that can last thousands of years.

For me, there is little in life more satisfying than sitting down and making a pot. The form and texture and color merge—on a good day—into something beautiful and alive, something to be used and handled, and even, with a little luck, cherished.
