Shirley White-Black

As an artist
I strive to make ideas visible.
My tools are thoughts,
dreams and associations.
My materials are earth,
water and pigment.
My companions are anxiety and
determination.
My challenge is the conversion of
formless matter into meaning.

I cannot envision
a more confounding,
engaging, surprising
existence.

It is for others to judge the outcome.
