As a collector and maker of objects, I work to retain pieces of my life – to save or make concrete the memories, images, objects, and ideas that occupy me.
What I hold most important are the things I have learned. Learning from experience in countries outside of my own is an important influence on my artwork. For me, India captures a piercing reality of the interface between poverty and the technology industry – a strange dichotomy between basic needs and super-saturation of information.
I use clay as a recording medium because it is modifiable on multiple levels, and capable of capturing the complexity of an idea or memory.
